Cryosurgery, also known as cryotherapy, is a gynecological procedure that uses freezing gas to destroy abnormal tissue in the cervix. It can be performed in a doctor’s office or outpatient procedure room while the patient is awake. The procedure usually takes around 10–20 minutes.

What can I expect after my cryosurgery?
After your cryosurgery, you will have a watery discharge for 2-3 weeks. Some patients report mild period type cramping and light bleeding. If you have any concerns about your symptoms, please contact the office.
What should I avoid after the cryosurgery?
Avoid having sexual intercourse, using tampons or inserting anything into the vagina during this time period.
